  • I repeatedly scold Jordan for being bad while I walk past an easy to see item over and over. It's just one of those days... trapped in a twisted experiment full of zombies. More RER2

  • RER2 continues and we're in a bit of a jam. Trapped in a prison full of monsters. One of us doesn't know how to use their gun and one of us forgets their partner is bad with guns. Hilarity (and death) ensues.

  • Who shows up to a upscale gala event in a pink hoodie? Why do we keep letting mega corporations pick up where Umbrella left off? Why does Chris Redfield suck so much? All these questions and more will be answered as I join my buddy for a seasonally appropriate play through of RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS 2

  • You know it finally happened yesterday. I slipped a day and just didn't log in. I'm at 1172 or 73 now and I'm not sure I will log in tonight either. These changes meant for the "longevity" and "health" of the game just seem... terrible and bad. They seem terribad. Marvel Heroes gearing has always bordered on convoluted and frequently crossed over into it. It needed to be streamlined. Especially for new players. But I'm a vet. I should not be looking at these itemization changes and going bugged-eyed thinking "what the trash is Melee vs Hand-to-Hand? And why do we need such delineation?" I think back to when cosmic were the best slot in this game, eventually missing wave after wave in midtown having the slave over all the RNG and comparing them. Such a waste of my time when I have to do 100 runs for a Salvage Alien Weapon.... that's getting trashed now seeing as it's only use, Rank 5, is being axed. Punished for building an amazing account. Such BS.

  • These item changes don't just reek "moving the goal posts" tactics. They are tantamount to saying that half way through the game not only are the goal posts moved, but we're not even in the right stadium, it's 2 cities over. Also we're dressed for the wrong sport.

I can't defend Gazillion past these disastrous decisions anymore. We should be taking steps forward, not leaping backwards to the rocky launch of 2013. Hell I might even take the items/crafting systems from PC launch over console. They're both near equal in terribleness.

Maybe this is just the end game content the CEO said was going to happen - they are going to redo items over and over.
    • Neverfate
      Neverfate
Yeah it's such BS. I stayed with the game. Kept spending money and supporting it and gave feedback and defended it. Now most of my fine tuning, getting the best items over the last 1.5 - 2 years doesn't count? Resetting the game isn't end game content, it's spiting anyone who had goodwill towards the game like I have.

OK. Where's Jaime Kennedy or Ashton? Who's hosting Punk'd now? Is that show even a thing or did it stop in 2007? Well whatever. Step out from behind the curtain, you rascals! Tell us what's really going on and that we don't have to transition to the terrible console item system. Any moment now. Any moment.... Any... moment....

Every film since the first has had zero logic. As much as people celebrate T2 (as a sci-fi action flick it's terrific) from a story point it was completely idiotic and utterly undermined (and in some cases flat out ignored) the vital plot aspects of the first.
    • Neverfate
      Neverfate
The issue with T2 is that all those vital aspects are in the full script. The full script would make the movie about 45 minutes longer with the entire opening of the film taking place in 2029 "right before" the events of the first and second film. It featured John defeating Skynet and subsequently sending Reese and the reprogrammed T800 back through time to 1984 and 1995 respectively. Ultimately Fox wasn't going to produce a 3+ hour film with nearly a third of it taking place in an expensive to produce post-apoc future with giant robots.
    • BabylonPaladin
      BabylonPaladin
NF...my issue is that it still contradicts the first on every level even with the added script features. Kyle's interrogation scene in the police lock-up explains
the whole 'Nobody goes home, nobody else comes through. It's just him...and me.' and that is what makes the circumstances so vital. T2 p*sses all over it.
    • BabylonPaladin
      BabylonPaladin
Not only that, but the ending of T2 obliterates the entire story and creates a paradox, which the story in T1 made repeated points in saying couldn't/wouldn't happen. It was the epitome of the Novikov Self-Consistency conjecture.

Yeah, nerd. I know. But is why I love the first flick so much and detest what became of the franchise.

      Fixed point in time, sorry.
    • Neverfate

I don't see the exact contradiction in that his statement still stands as accurate no matter what happens in T2. No one else is going to 1984 and he's certainly not going back to 2029. The time travel device would be destroyed. Cameron simply amended that there were two targets instead of one which was what the early script mentions. As for the ending of T2 Cameron had specifically wanted to give a definitive answers as to whether the events could or could not be changed - which he left the audience questioning at the end of the first film. He took the stance that the events could be changed. While the cut "future coda" ending of T2 was extremely explicit in that they altered time, the theatrical "high way" ending at least leaves it somewhat vague. Still Cameron is pretty set that time can be altered. As for why he wants to alter it further after T2 is beyond me. He posed a question with the first film and answered it with the second. It was done. At least he's ignoring all other entries into the franchise after T2.

No Judgement Day = no time travel = no John Connor = time paradox = ruined story. Cameron contradicted his own script. The idea that 'There is no fate but what we make for ourselves' is disproven in his own movie. Skynet was ALWAYS going to be destroyed as it was ALWAYS going to be built by the remnants of the original series 800. Just as Connor was ALWAYS Reese's son and had to send him back otherwise he could never exist. That was part of the message Kyle was told to give Sarah when he met her. "You must survive or I can never be." The same holds true for Judgement Day. Free will vs. fate/destiny. The Terminator illustrates brilliantly that in this particular set of events, destiny is the ONLY fate.
      .
Connor's and Skynet's existences are inimitably intertwined.
      .
I've heard the 'alternate timeline BS for years and I just tell people 'If you want alternate timelines that make everything pointless, go watch Star Trek.'

Not sure what to tell you. It's a fictional device that you feel should work in a very specific way. The very concept of time travel alone in the first film inherently flawed as well. Once Kyle, or anyone for that matter, travels back in time its essentially resetting reality itself. It's impossible to have the same offspring twice, because it's impossible for anything to happen the same exact way twice due to the uncertainty principle. A time traveler pretty much erases themselves and the entire reality because time isn't some narrative line or something that can "loop". It's a collection of energy in a certain arrangement at a specific point in a system. Adding new energy to that system at that exact point, were it possible, wouldn't change the fact that the energy in the system will never behave the same way twice and that an entirely new pattern would emerge anyway. A similar pattern maybe, but never exact. While both films are impossible for the simple fact that John could never happen twice, the 2nd film is at least more reasonable in that it embraces the uncertainty principle and presents a more realistic, albeit still wrong, use of time travel.
