Farewell once again to everybody.
I can't stop crying so many tears.
This was my place for comfort and joy.
Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.
I was watching the 1985 movie "The Legend of Billie Jean" right now. Just about to put my Turkey in the oven as my two cats are going bonkers making a mess in the living room.
It has inspired me to start a new Amazon named Billie Jean Davy when the new Diablo II ladder season starts on December 12. I thought it was starting sooner but a few more weeks isn't that long of a wait. I already created her, BillieJeanDavy because I can't skip a space, on US East non ladder (soloed my way to level 30 for funsies) so I have the name available for use.
I'll be leveling my Amazon to level 99 on US East softcore ladder this season. Account name: DreamTeam. I know some of you play Diablo III and Path of Exile but I don't know if I want to play those games right now. But if I do I'll find you.
The Dream will live on as Billie Jean Davy aka BillieJeanDavy
By the time I reach level 99 on my new softcore ladder Amazon.
I think David Brevik's new game will already be out. I'll give it a try.
I love all of you so much. The end is here and I'll deeply miss you!
You were the greatest friends I ever had. My heart is always yours.
I'd love to be the last one left on here when the lights are turned off.
I'm still very depressed right now and the past week has been difficult for me to accept. It's too painful for me to even log into the game until December 31, and I already deleted the game while crying uncontrollably. The 1000 free daily G's felt sad to me. It's like offering me a new puppy after my dog of 15 years had passed away. It's a nice gesture but I simply can't enjoy it under the circumstances.
There are no other games that I enjoyed playing as much as Marvel Heroes. Because this game offered me a lot of fun and I could play at my own pace. It felt like I was my favorite superhero and I felt more engaged with the entire Marvel universe. Disney and Marvel made a huge mistake parting ways with Gazillion because now they have lost a fan in me. I'll enjoy more DC Comics in the future (Marvel is dead to me) and I'll refuse to spend another cent on both Disney and Marvel products.
Even though I discovered this game 2.5 years too late (October of 2015), I never felt like I was that far behind the best players that had been here from the actual launch back in 2013. I was playing 10 to 15 hours a day during the weekends, and 5 to 6 hours on most weekdays. Many of my friends were veterans since day one and I had more infinity gem points than they did. But with some recent health problems I had to cut back my time. But even while I wasn't feeling well I would still find a way to play for a few hours.
I have played Diablo III: Reaper of Souls and Path of Exile. But those two games are too much of a grind for me to enjoy. I don't feel like going back to either of them. I'd be forcing myself to play those two games and it would feel like an unpaid job and not anything I'd enjoy doing.
Recently I discovered a fun and interesting game called Drakensang Online that's been around since 2011 (free to play action MMORPG) and it plays a lot like Diablo II with better 3D graphics and a lot of game content. Several areas on the map, a ton of mounts and pets. Even though the character selection is small they make constant updates to the game. It's what Diablo III should have been. It's made by a German-based company called Bigpoint Games. They have made several fun games that are still active and played by many people.
The problem with Drakensang Online is that I am too far behind everybody else on the two American servers. To start playing it in 2017 and not 2011 is a lot of time lost for me. I don't feel like grinding that hard just to become an average player. And I don't feel like spending any money to try and catch up. What if for some strange reason that game decides to end one day and I'm out a few hundred dollars. Although they've been around six years and counting. Unlike Gazillion Entertainment they have their own IP (no license needed) and make smarter business decisions. They are a good bet to last a long time. Already six years with that game and still going strong (Marvel Heroes only lasted 4.5 years by comparison).
But anyways, my only real choice is to go back to Diablo II, which I last played in 2012. I had a level 99 Summon Druid and a level 97 Passive & Magic Bowazon on the US East hardcore ladder season. I was considered one of the best players on there. Usually the only people ahead of me during the hardcore ladder seasons were bots and cheaters. I never once botted or used map hack.
Except this time I'll be playing softcore ladder on US East because I just want to have fun and play at my own pace (no more being the best like I was on hardcore ladder). Assuming the new ladder season starts soon. It started on November 23 and November 24 the past two years (2016 and 2015). So It should start up in the next few days for 2017. I was able to create the account "DreamTeam" on US East last night. Somebody always had that account name taken for years and years (from 2000 to 2012), so this is perhaps a sign that I had to come back to Diablo II in 2017. Playing the same game I first played in the summer of 2000. Unbelievable right?
I figure I can play D2 this ladder season and have a little fun. At least until David Brevik's new game is released in 2018. I'm not going to play a lot of Diablo II (for hours and hours like I used to). Just a little bit here and there. And I only play the Amazon and Druid. So you'll see me on DreamTeam on US East if you play D2: Lord of Destruction.
You'll have a buddy in me if you ever need one, if that means anything.
Glad you're ok... the MHO shutdown hits everyone differently, and it's apparent that this game was huge for you. While some don't get it, others do. It's not about the what, but about the loss. My big hope for you is that you can find a lot of joy in your life outside of any games, that you can attach to a lasting sense of fun and value in yourself. I hope you can find things to be passionate about, but I also hope that none of them will become overly important.
All the best as you work through it.
How are you holding up, Legend? Hope everything's alright. I just want to remind you and there'll always be newer, bigger, better Marvel games! MH has ran its course, but the next developer will learn from it just like Gazillion learned from MvC and Ultimate Alliance. The legacy goes on. I'm sure we're all going to meet again on the next MMO-esque Marvel game!
I take it Gaz didn't like your blackwidow build. Well, there's other games out there.
"The Truth is out there"
I'm sure you'll be fine.
C'mon buddy, come and tell us you're alright yeah? Good times or bad we are a family on here and we need our cheerful members now more then ever!
You'll be remembered as one of the greats no matter what.
No sarcasm, just genuine love for your optimism.
Hey...just checking...some are genuinely worried about how you're handling the shutting down. Just letting you know, and hoping all is well with you.
Hey DT, how's your BlackWidow build going? I'm a big fan and can't wait to try it.
Good morning to all fans of Marvel Heroes Omega!
I'm currently perfecting an awesome Black Widow build.
I'll wait until the omega patch before I finalize things.
I love playing this game and I just want to say...
I'm Taylor Swift's biggest fan and I enjoy all of her songs - older and newer hits alike. I've seen her live in concert a couple of times when she came to perform in my hometown of Houston, Texas.
If you can see I'm the one who understands you.
Been here all along so why can't you see.
You belong with me...
You belong with me...
Thank you, Marvel Heroes Omega! You are always the greatest game for me to play and you continue to reward me with all the smiles I need for the day. I find myself enjoying all of the cheap thrills. Come on, come on, turn the radio on...
Hello fans of Marvel Heroes Omega! It's nice to see you again. I was watching Disney's "The Muppets" from 2011 featuring Amy Adams. I'm also drinking a snapple peach iced tea and playing my favorite PC game. I love this game and I try to enjoy it for at least a few hours a day and night. Sometimes more.
Heya, DT! In the face of current events, I wanna show you some love. As a below average "entertainer" in a rare surge of wisdom once said:
"Sticks and stones may break my bones
But chains and whips excite me."
Woo! Woo! It's an awesome party every time I play this game and I'm having a ton of fun leveling that rock star and hipster, Hawkeye. I just want to say to all the fans of Marvel Heroes Omega... Just dance! Gonna be okay. Dada doo doot-n. Just dance! Spin that record babe. Da da doo doot-n. Just dance! Gonna be okay. D-d-d dance, dance, dance, just J-J-Just dance!
Did you all enjoy the new dev blog about keywords and omega items?
So much information packed into such a short amount of space.
My head is going bonkers trying to figure all of this out. LOL
I'm very hopeful and excited about the new changes.
Although I'm nervous because it seems so casually complicated.
But once I learn it and adapt, I should be fine and good to go.
I'm already dreaming of which set pieces to use on Black Widow (Natasha!).
