I enjoyed it. It kinda depends on what you want out of a game. IF you're looking for any of the mentioned three games, you should enjoy it. As for format - I say get what's easiest for you. I played it on PS4 - and it had some bugs, not sure how it stands up on PC. Note: The bugs on PS4, that I experienced, did not prevent me from getting Trophies or reaching the ending. Other than a crash that happened, I only had an NPC not spawn, which didn't really do anything but annoy me, in the end. As said - I really enjoyed it.
Hmm, is the story any good? I like the whole horror/supernatural aspect of it especially since it takes place in space. However I find myself never really feeling connected to FPS story driven games. I never could finish Dishonored as much as I enjoyed it, same with Bioshock. I even got bored of Skyrim.
The story was... hmmm.. without spoilers - it led me to think one thing was "true" and then came out of nowhere and showed me something else was. Something I hadn't foreseen... which.... for a game.... is rare. Usually I can predict a game easily. As a FPS - I'd say this game is not a FPS - even though it has FPS mechanics. It's.... damn it's hard to avoid spoilers given I just beat it.... Story-wise it impressed me, since it led me down a certain path and then flipped it. Have you played System Shock 2? Because in some ways it really reminds me of it, even if the story is way different.
Wizz, if you can stand outdated graphics, check out Morrowind. Best game in the series and it absolutely did NOT hold any hands. No quest markers, journal entries sometimes in cryptic clues....ah it was awesome. And no that's not nostalgia glasses, I still play it occasionally.
While I like ESO a lot, it lacks the freeform "be what you want to be" that other elder scrolls games nail while still railroading you into the "chosen one" trope....which was stupid in an MMO.
YOU'RE THE CHOSEN ONE! And so is that guy to your left, and that guy over there, don't forget about her, oh the 30v30v30 pvp map? THEY'RE ALL THE CHOSEN ONES!!!!
But I have fun playing it anyway despite its limitations.
Yeah I'm a graphics nut for the most part so Morrowind won't be my cup of tea for sure. A major thing for me is having a voiced protagonist. Does Prey have one?! I don't think I've heard the guys voice from everything I've watched.
