Is it necessary to have the summon golem on your bar if you take the 3rd talent in row 1?

the golems dont summon for me if its not stuck in my bar. seems counterintuitive, but thems the breaks until they fix it. idk if its considered a bug or a feature.

It states that it adds more golems when you use the golem power.

So just tried it and it does summon 3 ice golems when in combat.... you do not need the ice golem power on your bar for it to work......

Yes. It's the skill that summons 2 extra Golems, not the act of you being in combat.

From patch notes 2.04....

Ice Golems have been redesigned - by default, they only attack in Melee. Activating the ability while Ice Golems are already active cause them to throw a large snowball in the targeted direction, taunt enemies, and activate a PBAoE snow storm around themselves for a short duration. The power now has a 10 second cool down.

and...

Golem Mastery - No longer increases duration, but does cause Golems to be auto-summoned in combat, allowing players to opt out of the button press (and opt out of their snowball throw active - the choice is yours)

So no you don't need to use the ice golem power any more...

if you want the golems out at all times, you still need the skill on your bar. they sometimes despawn, and wont auto-summon for around 30-60 seconds. its a bug thats been reported many times. the only way around it is to manually summon them when this happens.
